# Is it fast enough for Zoom and Teams calls all day?

On speed, yes by a wide margin. Zoom's published minimums for its top call setting are 3.8 Mbps up and, as a minimum, 3.0 Mbps down, and every High Desert plan lists up to 200 Mbps up.

All-day calls are a real test, so the answer needs two parts: whether the speed is enough, and what else decides if calls stay smooth.

## What does Zoom ask for?

Zoom publishes bandwidth figures by call type. For a one-to-one call, 720p HD video needs 1.2 Mbps each way, and 1080p needs 3.8 Mbps up and 3.0 Mbps down. For a group call, 720p lists 2.6 Mbps up and 1.8 Mbps down, and 1080p lists the same 3.8 up and 3.0 down. Microsoft Teams publishes its own figures; check them on its help pages.

Against the plan cards, Bronze lists up to 500 Mbps down and up to 200 Mbps up. Even with several people on calls at once, the numbers fit with room to spare. The guide on [how much data video calls use](https://hdiss.net/guides/how-much-data-do-video-calls-use/) adds up the monthly total.

## What else decides whether calls stay smooth?

Wi-Fi quality, the number of other devices busy at the same moment and response time. The company publishes no ping figure; see [what ping to expect](https://hdiss.net/faq/speed-and-latency/what-ping-should-i-expect/). A work laptop on an Ethernet cable avoids the weakest link. If calls freeze, the guide on [why video calls freeze](https://hdiss.net/guides/why-video-calls-freeze/) goes through the causes in order.

Reviewers describe working from home on the service with no problem, but a review is one person's experience, not a promise. The page on [internet for working from home](https://hdiss.net/internet-for/working-from-home/) covers the setup.

## Does an all-day call count toward the limit?

Video uses data in both directions, and a full day of calls adds up over a month. The agreement does not say which direction counts toward the limit, so ask at 775-575-9593. Each plan has a data transfer limit, and use over it is billed at $1 per gigabyte (Section 1). The limit size is not published; email info@hdiss.net to ask, and see [data use on a work-from-home day](https://hdiss.net/guides/data-use-on-a-work-from-home-day/).

Before you rely on the line for a job, send your address through the [address check](https://hdiss.net/check-availability/) and ask what to do if the line fails during a work day.
