Early Termination Fee

An early termination fee only exists when there is a term to break. High Desert's published agreement describes notice and equipment return, and no fee by that name.

What is Early Termination Fee?

Providers that sell service on a contract may charge an amount if you leave early, often falling each month you stay. The FCC's broadband consumer label rules, in 47 CFR 8.1, require the label to show the content prescribed by the Commission, and the FCC's July 2026 order, as noted in the project's research, keeps contract term and early termination fees among the fields a phone seller must summarize. High Desert states no contracts on its plan cards (its words), so there is no term to end early with it; any other provider's fee is that provider's to state in its own terms.

See month-to-month service.

Why does it matter on a fixed wireless connection?

High Desert states that it has no contracts. The service agreement, version 1.12, requires two weeks' notice and the return of all equipment before billing stops, and says unreturned or damaged equipment is charged at its value. It contains no clause named early termination fee. The company has not published a fee schedule beyond this, so for anything else call 775-575-9593.

That is a statement about the document as published and not a promise about every case. Read no-contract internet, what to ask.

What should I do about it?

When you compare offers, ask each provider for the term, the early termination fee, the price after any intro period and the equipment charge, and ask for them in writing. Our questions to ask any provider is a checklist, and real cost of an internet plan shows the sums.

If you are leaving another provider, ask that company for the exact payoff before you schedule the switch. See switching from cable.

Keep any written answer you get from a provider about fees.

One of your roof looking toward the ridge, and one of any old dish or antenna, helps us check the path. Phone photos are fine.

By sending this you agree that we may call or email you about this address. A technician never comes out until you say yes.
