Gold is the top of the published price list. The company's plan cards, read October 15, 2026, give the numbers below, and each speed is a ceiling and not a promise.
Who does Gold suit?
Gold fits the household that has a little of everything: two remote workers, a streaming TV in every room, game consoles with multi-gigabyte updates, smart-home devices and cameras. The FCC's Household Broadband Guide puts busy multi-device homes in its Advanced band, anything above 25 Mbps, and calls the grid a rough guideline. A ceiling of up to 1 Gig leaves the largest margin.
It also fits someone who moves big files, like a photographer sending images or a family that keeps a cloud library in sync.
What do I get for the extra money compared with Silver?
The download ceiling rises from up to 800 Mbps to up to 1 Gig, for $24 more a month than Silver. The upload ceiling stays at up to 200 Mbps. That means the gain is on the receiving side: large downloads, many streams and updates arriving at once. Your router and Wi-Fi often set the practical limit, so a good router matters; see choosing a router to buy and Ethernet for the things that matter.
When is Gold more than I need?
If your household is small and your use is steady, Bronze or Silver may already clear your needs with room to spare. The FCC's Broadband Speed Guide lists a minimum of 25 Mbps for one Ultra HD 4K stream, a long way under any of the three ceilings. Many customers choose by what happens at the busiest hour, not the average one. Our household speed guide helps you pick.
What about upload?
If your work depends on sending data, such as uploading video, running a server or backing up a business, the upload ceiling of up to 200 Mbps is the number to read. Ask about the ultra-low-latency service, up to 1 Gig / 1 Gig, described on its own page. It is available only in certain areas, and the company asks you to check whether it is in yours.
What does the agreement say about data?
Each service level has a data transfer limit set out in the service agreement. Email info@hdiss.net for the size that applies to Gold. Use above the limit is charged at $1 per gigabyte in a billing cycle. Fast plans move data quickly, so a heavy household should know its limit. The guide on data transfer limits and your usage explains how to track it.
Compared with the dish and the cable bill
Gold is the plan to hold against the top of the other price lists. Starlink's Residential Max is $130 a month for up to 400+ Mbps, with the kit extra and “top Residential network priority” reserved for that tier (starlink.com, read 10/15/26). Spectrum's gigabit tier is $60 a month for one year and then a standard rate it does not print (spectrum.com, read 10/15/26); where that coax reaches, it is a fast wire. Gold is $99 a month with up to 1 Gig down and up to 200 Mbps up, no promotional year and no contract, and it reaches roofs the cable never will. The side-by-side table is on why people switch to High Desert.
How do I start?
Nothing is sold online. Send your address with the address check or call 775-575-9593, 9 to 5 every day. We look at the path from the nearest tower to your roof and call you back. Bronze at $50 a month and Silver at $75 a month are the other two plans.
