Internet by ZIP code in Northern Nevada

Each ZIP code page opens with a table: how many households have a subscription, rely on a phone plan alone, use satellite or have no internet, set beside the county and Nevada. The pages describe the area and never promise service at an address.

ZIP codes are how many people search, so each one has a page. They are built on public Census data, and they are table-first on purpose, because the numbers are the useful part.

Why are the ZIP pages table-first?

If you search a ZIP code you want a quick picture, not an essay. The table puts your ZIP beside its county and the state, using U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024 5-year, table B28002. A short reading of the table follows, then the plans and the address check. For a place with a clear story, such as a high share of homes on satellite, we say so in a sentence.

What is a ZCTA and why does it matter?

The Census does not measure USPS ZIP codes. It measures ZIP Code Tabulation Areas, called ZCTAs, which approximate them. A ZCTA can cover slightly different ground than the mail route, and a few of our places, such as Lockwood, Mound House, Stead, Palomino Valley and McCarran, share a ZIP area with a neighbor. Those pages say so. Treat the figures as the character of the area and not an exact count for one street.

What do the ZIP pages not say?

They do not say we serve every home in a ZIP code. Fixed wireless needs a clear path from a tower to a roof, which a ZIP code cannot tell you. Use the address check or call 775-575-9593. The service area page lists the 36 places we work in by county.

Can we reach your roof?

Send the address. A person looks at the path from our nearest tower and calls you back: clear, not clear, or we need to look at it from your roof.

One of your roof looking toward the ridge, and one of any old dish or antenna, helps us check the path. Phone photos are fine.

By sending this you agree that we may call or email you about this address. A technician never comes out until you say yes.
