Small business internet from High Desert Internet

High Desert Internet serves home and small business customers with the same three plans: Bronze at $50 a month, Silver at $75 a month and Gold at $99 a month. For a shop, yard or office the number to look at is upload, which is up to 200 Mbps on every plan.

A small business asks different questions from a household: will the card reader work, can the phones run on it, what happens when it is down. This page answers what is published and says plainly where it is not.

Is there a business plan?

The plan cards are headed Residential and Small Business Internet Access Accounts, and there is one price list for both. No separate business tier is published. If you need something the cards do not show, ask by phone and the office will tell you what is possible for your building, your phones and your budget. Need a service-level agreement, a fixed IP address or a dedicated circuit? Say so when you call and we will tell you what is possible for your building.

Why does upload matter to a business?

Download is what arrives. Upload is what you send: video calls, files to the cloud, cameras reporting to a phone, backups and phone calls over the internet. A shop or an office often sends a lot more than a home does. All three plans have uploads up to 200 Mbps, so Bronze is not a step down for these uses. The guide on download versus upload speed explains the idea, and the 1 Gig / 1 Gig service is the one to ask about if matching upload is the core of your work.

Can card readers and phones run on it?

Many small offices run both on fixed wireless. Our guides on card readers and point of sale and VoIP phones over fixed wireless go through what to check. Cameras on a yard or job site are covered in remote cameras on a yard or job site. We cannot promise any particular phone service will work, so test before you move your main number.

What about a backup connection?

A business that cannot afford to be offline should think about a second line from a different kind of provider. Backup internet for a small business explains how, and the equipment needs power, so a small battery backup helps; see surges, outages, UPS and generators.

Which towns have a business page?

There are town pages with Census business counts for Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fernley, Fallon, Minden and Gardnerville, Dayton, Yerington and others. Start at Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fernley or Fallon. They describe the business districts and the area. They do not promise service at a street address.

What are the terms?

The company states it has no contracts. Cancelling takes two weeks notice and the equipment back, per the service agreement. Each service level has a data transfer limit, so a business that moves large files should ask for the size by emailing info@hdiss.net. Read network management and terms. Peer-to-peer applications are prohibited on the network. Service calls where no fault is found, or where there is no access to the equipment, are billed at time and material rates.

Does the company also host websites and email?

Yes for customers: see web hosting, email and domain registration. Ask for details, because pricing is not published.

What should I have ready when I call?

The street address of the building, how many people use the connection, whether you run phones, cameras or a card reader, and whether you rent. A landlord may need to agree to an antenna; read landlords, HOAs and the OTARD rule first. Then the office can say whether to look at one of the three plans or ask about the up to 1 Gig / 1 Gig service, and what to expect from the next step.

How do I get a business address checked?

Send the address of the shop, office or yard through the address check, or call 775-575-9593. A person looks at the path from the nearest tower to the building and calls you back. If the roof does not see a tower but a pole or a mast could, the technician tells you.

Every speed is an up-to figure. What you see depends on the path from the tower to your roof, how many people are online and your Wi-Fi router. Each plan has a data transfer limit; ask us for yours at info@hdiss.net.

Ask about 1 Gig / 1 Gig.

Our ultra-low-latency service with upload as fast as download, in some areas. Check your address and tick "Ask about 1 Gig / 1 Gig" and we will tell you if your address can get it. About the 1 Gig / 1 Gig service.

Prices and speeds as published by High Desert Internet Services (hdiss.net, read 10/15/26). "Runs" lines use the FCC Household Broadband Guide and Broadband Speed Guide (fcc.gov), which the FCC calls rough guidelines; every High Desert plan is above the FCC's highest household band of more than 25 Mbps.
