Is T-Mobile Home Internet offered in Lyon County? What the records show

T-Mobile told the FCC in June 2021 it could serve at least one location in 789 census blocks in Lyon County with terrestrial fixed wireless, not a statement about any address. Check your address on the FCC National Broadband Map, with T-Mobile or with High Desert.

Here is the dated record for T-Mobile Home Internet in Lyon County as of October 15, 2026, followed by a plain comparison with High Desert's tower-based fixed wireless and the ways to check a real address.

What is on file for T-Mobile in Lyon County?

Reporting to the FCC in June 2021, T-Mobile said it could serve at least one location in each of 789 census blocks in Lyon County with terrestrial fixed wireless, at advertised maximums of up to 25 Mbps down and up to 3 Mbps up. Of the 24 provider-and-technology rows in the extract for Lyon County, 8 report more census blocks than this one and 15 report fewer.

A census block is the smallest unit on the Census Bureau's map, and Lyon County has about 23,745 households (ACS 2020-2024 5-year, table B28002), so a block count shows where a T-Mobile filing touched the map and not how many homes it reached.

The T-Mobile row is filed under the FCC's code for terrestrial fixed wireless and does not name a product, so this Lyon County page does not assume it describes the home internet plan the company sells today.

Form 477 was a company-to-FCC report, T-Mobile's included, and the June 2021 release was the last of its kind. Nothing in it confirms that T-Mobile serves a house in Lyon County now, and no filing can. The FCC National Broadband Map replaced it, and a guide to challenging the map explains what to do when it is wrong about a Lyon County home.

What can be read on T-Mobile's site about Lyon County?

T-Mobile's Home Internet plans page, read October 15, 2026, lists Rely at $50 a month with a discount (original $60), Amplified at $60 (original $70) and All-In at $70 (original $80), all plus taxes and fees, as read for this Lyon County page. T-Mobile words typical download speeds on Rely as up to 354 Mbps and typical upload speeds as up to 55 Mbps on 5G, a starting point for a Lyon County comparison.

T-Mobile adds a $20 discount when a voice line joins the account and lists a $35 device connection charge due at sale, recorded here for Lyon County readers.

T-Mobile names no Nevada town on the plan pages read, and its address check is the only place it speaks to a specific location in Lyon County. That makes the address check, not a Lyon County town list, the real test for T-Mobile.

How does fixed wireless from High Desert compare in Lyon County?

High Desert Internet, open since August 2002 by its own account, sends fixed wireless from towers to the home, in Lyon County as in its other five counties. For a Lyon County address, nothing is promised until someone has looked at the path from the nearest tower. For prices, read the plan cards below rather than this paragraph: three published plans, no contracts in the company's words, the same cards a Lyon County reader sees on every T-Mobile page here.

For the full side-by-side on prices and terms, see High Desert vs T-Mobile Home Internet, and for the technology behind the difference, fixed wireless vs 5G home internet.

  • If T-Mobile fits a Lyon County home: You want a gateway that arrives in the mail and a five-year price lock, which T-Mobile words as a promise on its plan cards.
  • If T-Mobile fits a Lyon County home: You want a single carrier bill and are comfortable with typical speeds that T-Mobile words as up to 354 Mbps or up to 498 Mbps.
  • If High Desert fits a Lyon County home: Your cell signal is weak at the house, and a radio link built for the home alone and aimed at a tower is a different route, such as a ranch road near Dayton, Silver Springs or Smith Valley.
  • If High Desert fits a Lyon County home: You want upload speeds listed at up to 200 Mbps on every plan, for cameras, backups and video calls.

What is the picture in Lyon County beyond the filings?

Housing in Lyon County, which sets the scene for T-Mobile: 17.8% of housing units are mobile homes, against 5.2% for Nevada, 76.7% of homes are owner-occupied and the median home was built in 1998 (ACS 2020-2024 5-year, tables B25024, B25003 and B25035). Those Lyon County figures say nothing about any one road, which is why this T-Mobile page sends you to an address check.

Fernley sits at about 4,535 feet, Dayton at about 4,302, Silver Springs at about 4,172, Yerington at about 4,578 and Smith Valley at about 4,770 (USGS elevation service, High Desert place records). The county is long and thin, with towns far apart, so a line that reaches one town says little about the next. That is the ground any T-Mobile comparison in Lyon County starts from. High Desert has pages for Fernley, Dayton and Silver Springs that read the Census figures place by place, a finer grain than any T-Mobile filing.

How do I check my address for T-Mobile in Lyon County?

Start with T-Mobile: use the address check on t-mobile.com, where the Home Internet page asks for the street address. Then open the FCC National Broadband Map, type the Lyon County address and read which providers it lists there today. If T-Mobile and the map disagree, ask each company directly and look at what to do when the map lists a provider that does not serve you. For High Desert, send the Lyon County address through the address check or call 775-575-9593.

What is the next step?

When you send High Desert your Lyon County address, a person looks at the path from the nearest tower to your roof and calls you back. Nothing is promised before that look.

What does current FCC data (December 31, 2025) show for T-Mobile in Lyon County?

As of the December 31, 2025 Broadband Data Collection (FCC files read October 16, 2026), T-Mobile reported licensed fixed wireless at 16,839 locations with a top advertised tier of up to 100 Mbps down and up to 20 Mbps up in Lyon County. 4,009 of those locations carried a 100/20 tier or better. Against those T-Mobile rows, the full Lyon County count on the map is 25,827 locations.

Across every filer in Lyon County, T-Mobile among them, at least one company reported a fixed wireless tier of 100/20 or better at 25,014 of the 25,827 locations on the map, and a cable, fiber or DSL tier at that level at 20,949. At 4,497 locations, in the same files that list T-Mobile, a fixed wireless filing was the only land-based 100/20 option listed; separately, 48 had no land-based filing at 25/3 or better, leaving satellite as the only reported option. For Lyon County the FCC counts broadband serviceable locations, which are buildings, not households or customers, and each row, T-Mobile's included, is the provider's own report. The files list T-Mobile but say nothing about High Desert's own towers, and a Lyon County address is checked one roof at a time.

The ACS has no fixed-wireless line: those homes are counted under cable, fiber or DSL, or under other service. The thin mark on each bar is Nevada.

Did T-Mobile file with the FCC for Lyon County in 2021?

Yes. In June 2021, T-Mobile reported to the FCC (Form 477, historical) that it could serve at least one location in 789 census blocks in Lyon County with terrestrial fixed wireless. That is a footprint T-Mobile left on the map of Lyon County and not a promise about any address there.

Does T-Mobile name places in Lyon County on its site?

For Lyon County: not on the pages read. T-Mobile's plan pages carry an address check and name no Nevada place, and nothing more specific to Lyon County than that was found on T-Mobile's pages.

What does High Desert cost next to T-Mobile in Lyon County?

High Desert's three published monthly prices for Bronze, Silver and Gold are on the plan cards on this Lyon County page, and T-Mobile's are above. For T-Mobile, use the prices it published on the date read, and ask each company for the exact total at your Lyon County address.
