Return equipment

The antenna, radio, power supply and injector are High Desert Internet property. When service ends, the agreement says all equipment must come back undamaged within five calendar days, and monthly billing does not stop until it is recovered. Call 775-575-9593 for the plan; do not take the outdoor equipment down yourself.

This is the page for the end of the story. Returning equipment correctly saves a bill for its value, so a short call before you do anything is worth it.

Steps

  1. List what is the company's

The antenna, the radio, the power supply and the injector. Your Wi-Fi router is probably yours; ask if you are unsure.

  2. Call before you touch anything

Phone 775-575-9593 or 775-391-5660 and ask how the return will be done.

  3. Do not climb up

The outdoor equipment is mounted high and powered. Never climb to the antenna or touch the radio or its cable.

  4. Unplug the indoor pieces only if told to

The injector and its power supply are indoors. Ask before you disconnect.

  5. Keep the equipment safe and dry

Do not let it sit outdoors. Put it in a box if you have one.

  6. Hand it over as instructed

The person on the phone says how and where. We do not publish a street address for returns.

  7. Ask for a note that it was received

Keep that for your records. Write to billing@hdiss.net if the final bill looks off.

What do I return?

The agreement names four items: the antenna, the radio, the power supply and the injector. They stay High Desert Internet property for the whole life of the service. We do not name makes or models on this site. Anything you bought yourself, such as a router, a mesh system or a cable of your own, stays with you.

Where do I return it?

We have not published a drop-off address. The mailing address on this site is a post office box, and the box is for letters, not equipment. Ask on the phone how the return is handled. The guide on how to cancel and return equipment gives the general order.

What if something is damaged or missing?

The agreement says that equipment returned damaged or not returned is charged at its value. It also says failed supplied equipment is repaired or replaced by the company during service, so a part that stopped working is not the same as a lost one. Tell the person what happened. Wind, lightning and fallen branches are among the causes covered on after a wind storm.

When does billing stop?

After two weeks notice and after the equipment is recovered, according to the agreement. Read pause or cancel service for the full sequence and the agreement for the exact words.

Can I keep the cables I bought myself?

Yes, anything you bought is yours. The question is only about the four items the company supplied and owns. If you ran a cable of your own inside the house, it stays too. When in doubt, ask while the person is on the phone.

How should I prepare the indoor pieces?

Once a person has told you to disconnect, unplug the injector's power supply from the wall first, then unplug the cables from the injector. Coil the cables loosely rather than tightly, and put the pieces together in one box, away from damp and heat. Write the date on a piece of paper. Do not use tape directly on the housings.

Take a quick look at the pieces for scratches or cracks and say so on the phone if you see any. A damaged piece is a conversation, not a surprise on a final bill.

What about the part that is outside?

The antenna and radio on the roof or pole come down with a technician. That is deliberate. The mount is high, the radio carries power over its cable and the cable runs through a wall. Leave them in place, tell the office, and ask for the pickup arrangement. If you are moving and the buyer will keep the pole or mount, say so too.

What do I do if the company does not call back?

Phone again during office hours, and note the day and the name of the person you spoke to. The five-day clock in the agreement runs from termination, so ask when it starts for you. You can also write to billing@hdiss.net, which gives both sides a written record of the date you asked.
